Spiritual Father: Who is your Real and Fake Father?

Spiritual Father: Who is your Real and Fake Father?

According to Jesus Christ our Lord, there is only one Spiritual Father and He is Almighty GOD. We made GOD jealous by calling our Pastors and spiritual leaders Father and the church is presently in a terrible mess.

Is your faith sucking because of the strange news you heard about your spiritual father? Are you disappointed by the attitude of your spiritual grandfather too?

Today’s sermon would give you the right understanding of the title ‘spiritual father’ and guide you to know how to address your spiritual leaders in the righteous way approved by Jesus Christ.

This message is strictly for Christians who respect Jesus Christ’s commandments and not the controversial doctrines of church leaders.

Who is Spiritual Father in the Bible?

The word ‘spiritual father’ does not exist in the Bible, so it came into existence as a title after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ by some leaders including the papacy.

The title ‘Father’ is sacred to Jesus Christ that He referred to the LORD as Father for 213 times as recorded in gospels and acts.

When Jesus Christ noticed the havoc caused by the leaders into the lives of the followers and the victims could not raise their voice because they respect the titles of their leaders so much. Jesus set them free by telling them the truth about GOD who is Spiritual:

Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.” (Matthew 23:9)

Bible Verses About Spiritual Father

Matthew chapter 23 verses 1 to 12:

“Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to His disciples, saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. “Therefore, whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do.

“For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. “But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments.

“They love the best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues, “greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, ‘Rabbi, Rabbi.’

But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren.”

Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.”

“And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ.”

“But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. “And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”””

What is Jesus saying?

1. The structural setting of Jesus context above is congregational, so calling your earthly parent father is not a sin in this context but calling your pastor your father is a sin in the context above.

2. All servants of GOD in this context must refuse big titles like; father-in-the-Lord and other forms of titles we give ourselves from the time of Paul.

3. All New Testament believers must see themselves as brothers and sisters; no one is big than the other in the church.

4. Any leader who wants to lead the congregate must act like a servant without wearing big clothes, riding exotic cars, sitting on big chairs or asking the church members to build a mansion for him.

5. It might be difficult for the spiritual leaders to accept these commandments because Jesus is changing the trend of worshiping Pastors to adoring GOD only.

Your Mentor is Not Your Spiritual Father

A mentor is someone who advised you and explained the scriptures to you when you are growing spiritually. The popular trend in our midst is to refer to such mentor a spiritual father but it is perfectly wrong. Your mentor can be your spiritual leader but can never receive the title called “Spiritual Father.” GOD is Spirit, so there is only one Spiritual Father for everyone and He is the LORD.

Many of the spiritual leaders who love to be called ‘spiritual father’ justify their disobedience by quoting 1 Corinthians 4:14–15 and 2 Corinthians 12:14–15. But, Paul’s statement in the passages were self-proclaimed and not God speaking the utterance through him.

3 Importance of Having the Spiritual Father

1. When you confess your sins and accept Jesus Christ into your life, then GOD becomes you Spiritual Father who blesses you with His Holy Spirit.

“Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.”” (John 14:23)

2. The Holy Spirit would be your counsel every day to guide you on the righteous path to follow.

3. If you give all your respect to the LORD, you won’t suffer disappointment.

I got more confused and wonder if many of our leaders are not like the Pharisees. How could I call my pastor or the general overseer “my spiritual fathers” and I hear them refer to God as their “father”. So, who is God to me…my “spiritual grandfather”?

Jesus Christ had clearly told us that we are all brethren and only GOD is our Father. God is Spirit, so HE is the only Spiritual Father!

It might be difficult to change the damaging church doctrines which contradicts Jesus’ commandments, but I want you to meditate on today’s message and act according to the instructions of Jesus Christ by not calling any man your spiritual father.

15 Most Common Reasons for Divorce You Must Know!

15 Most Common Reasons for Divorce You Must Know!

Divorce is painful to couples and unhealthy to their future generations. So, it is wise to know the common reasons for divorce which helps you to make your marriage stronger and unbreakable.

Today’s sermon highlights the popular and unpopular causes of divorce. And the intension of this message is to discourage divorce at all cost because God hates divorce.

For the LORD God of Israel says that He hates divorce, for it covers one’s garment with violence,” says the LORD of hosts. “Therefore, take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.”” (Malachi 2:16)

According to the United Nations, the Maldives has the highest divorce rate, with 10.97 divorces taking place per 1,000 people each year. Belarus has the second highest worldwide divorce rate, with 4.63 per 1,000, followed by the US.

The CDC reports that there are approximately 827,000 divorces every year. That is roughly 68,916 divorces per month or 2,265 divorces per day.

It would be a joy to the LORD if the number of Christians in these statistics can tend towards zero…

15 Major Reasons for Divorce You Must Avoid!

1. Young Age; A lasting marriage won’t be too impatient to start at teenage or adolescent age.

2. Lack of sound Courtship period; Failure to understand individual difference to some extent before marriage can short-live such relationship. Your courtship must not be a short one and if it doesn’t flow then your marriage cannot be successful.

3. Little or no education on marriage; Learning from Elders, Pastors and other counsellors before marriage helps to destroy the forces of divorce.

4. Financial recklessness; Divorce is imminent if marriage starts on a poverty level or lack of knowledge on money management.

5. Not ready to take responsibilities; when one or both partners lack commitment to sustain the home when things get tough.

6. Toxic communication; careless talks, hot argument, verbal abuse, coarse jokes, not having time to listen to each other must be avoided in marriage.

7. Long-distance marriage; God did not design marriage for husband and wife to live separately.

“Therefore, a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” (Genesis 2:24)

8. Religious difference; It is too risky in this generation for a Christian to marry someone who is not knowledgeable and faithful to the word of God in the Bible.

9. Sexual intimacy; It’s uncommon for both couples to have the same drive, so both must shift ground for a common point of understanding.

10. Extramarital affairs; Exercise self-control when dealing with opposite sex.

11. Addiction; Drug abuse, alcoholics and gambling are terrible features that kills marriage.

12. Domestic Abuse; Angry moment is inevitable but hitting your spouse is demonic. Go out for a walk when the room is tensed.

13. Cohabitation; Living together with your partner before marriage would likely cause divorce in the future because it is against the plan of God for a happy marriage.

14. Premarital pregnancy; This is a fruit of fornication against God’s will.

15. Parents’ divorce; You and your spouse must put extra effort to keep your marriage by not following the footstep of your parents who subscribed to divorce as a best option.

The points above are the features that leads to divorce, so be faithful to the LORD and to your spouse and avoid all the reasons for divorce.

Christian Spiritual Journey: 10 Guidelines for a Safe Trip!

Christian Spiritual Journey: 10 Guidelines for a Safe Trip!

Christian spiritual journey is the activities you do every day through Jesus Christ with the strong determination to gain Heaven.

Today’s sermon would broaden your knowledge about Christian spiritual journey and how to survive the rough path.

Types of Spiritual Journey

There are two types of spiritual journey;

1. Christ-like Spiritual Journey

This journey requires constant obedience to the instructions of the Holy Spirit and the use of Bible as the spiritual map.

Jesus says: “Enter by the narrow gate…Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. (Matthew 7:13-14)

2. Demonic Spiritual Journey

Devil is the instructor of this course. Example of such practices include; conjure of spirits, astral projection, witchcraft, bloody rituals etc.

Jesus warned: “…for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.” (Matthew 7:13)

When Does a Spiritual Journey Starts?

It starts from the ‘womb’ when God forms your body, soul and spirit. We are spiritually formed, so everything that happens in the physical realm has a spiritual implication.

Your spiritual journey starts when you don’t know the difference between good and bad and the Angel of the LORD have the responsibility to guide you.

Jesus says: “Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 18:10)

But, the presence of God’s Angel in your life may be short-lived if your parents were not faithful to the LORD and at that moment the Devil takes over the spiritual journey.

I grew up to know that the Devil’s spiritual journey I followed could not give me eternal rest so I quit and followed Jesus Christ.

How to Start a Christian Spiritual Journey?

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”

The following steps are vital for you to enjoy a successful trip with the LORD:

1. Quit the Devil

2. Come to Jesus Christ

3. Confess your sins to the LORD

4. Be baptised

5. Read your Bible daily and Meditate the Word of God

6. Live an obedient life as directed by the LORD

7. Share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus with your friends.

When you follow the seven steps above, then your Christian spiritual journey will start on a solid rocky foundation.

What Happens on a Christian Spiritual Journey?

I would sincerely tell you the truth that the spiritual journey with Jesus Christ is not a smooth one. There is time to climb the steep mountains, move through the thick forest and stay at the dry and wet valleys before proceeding on the rough narrow path.

Jesus says: “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

There is bad times, good seasons, trials and temptations. Time to mourn and time to give birth. So, don’t be discouraged!

Matthew chapter 10 verse 16 says: “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore, be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.”

Why is the Christian Journey a Rough One?

You have made the right choice by becoming a Christian. But, don’t turn back when you go through the tough part of the spiritual journey.

Many people walk through the demonic spiritual journey because they are deceived with sweet things of this world which are short-lived. And, unfortunately the end of their journey leads to hell fire.

Christians spiritual journey is a rough one on earth due to the presence of the Devil who strive to attack and discourage us from getting to Heaven.

Read Revelation chapter 12 to have a deep spiritual understanding for the reason Christian spiritual journey is tougher than the demonic path.

And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” (Revelation 12:17)
