Spiritual Loneliness: 10 Vital Ways to Overcome Separation

Spiritual Loneliness: 10 Vital Ways to Overcome Separation

Spiritual loneliness occurs when a Christian noticed the strange emptiness coupled with a sensation of separation from the LORD.

Christian loneliness is a painful experience common among people who had once enjoyed the regular presence of the LORD and suddenly lost the companion of GOD.

Today’s message would explain the cause of spiritual loneliness and how to overcome the menace!

5 Major Causes of Spiritual Loneliness

1. When you are too busy ministering to people without creating time for re-filling of spiritual anointing.

See the secret of Jesus Christ that saved Him from spiritual separation from GOD:

“Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.” (Luke 6:12)

2. Disobedience to the commandments of the LORD when you feel you know so much about spiritual matters.

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21)

3. Rejection of the counsel given by the Holy Spirit due to spiritual laziness, procrastination or pride.

4. Combining the worldly doctrine to that of the LORD because you want to be called a Modern Preacher (or a Seasoned Christian) and not an Old School.

“So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” (Revelation 3:16)

5. Spiritual loneliness set in when the love of the world overcomes the first love for GOD and eventually kills the passion for things of the LORD.

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” (1 John 2:15)

Effects of Christian Loneliness

Separation from God’s presence either intentionally or ignorantly can lead to the following:

1. If care is not taken it may lead to permanent spiritual backslide. Read Hebrew chapter 6 verse 4 to 6.

2. Spiritual loneliness allows the entrance of demonic spirit who pretend to be an angel of light.

“When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.

And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order.

Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.” (Luke 11: 24-26)

3. No more peace and joy of salvation.

4. The break in communication with the Holy Spirit leads to a confused life.

5. When someone is rejected by the LORD then such person’s name is wiped off from the Book of Life.

“But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.” (Revelation 21:27)

10 Ways to Overcome Spiritual Loneliness

1. Give yourself a retreat; cancel all public ministration and stay in a private place to communion with the LORD for about 40 days.

2. Do Bible meditation and search through your life to name all the sins that separated you from the LORD.

3. Ask for forgiveness and repent from all the blunders.

4. Don’t leave the presence of the LORD until He speaks to you!

5. Go back to the passion you have for GOD during your first love.

6. Separate yourself from the worldly style and you won’t suffer spiritual loneliness.

7. Go obey every specific instruction the LORD asked you to do.

8. You can’t be lonely if you cultivate the habit of steady worship to the LORD through singing songs of praises and worship.

9. Dedicate yourself to the LORD and ask HIM to train you.

10. Don’t let your speed of achievement becomes higher or slower than God’s speed. You must be sensitive to God’s timing!

If you are going through any spiritual loneliness, I recommend the ten points above to you and your testimony would be great. Please, find the errors without given excuses and the LORD will surely dwell with you in Jesus’ name.

What the Salvation of Jesus Christ Cannot Do?

Please be cautious of many false preachers who tell you that you have nothing to do than to confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour.

They may tell you that whatever you do would not stop you from entering heaven…They misinterpret many statements of Paul and quote some Old Testament verses which are not relevant for the New Testament era. Be careful!

The salvation of the LORD through Jesus Christ does not agree to the following:

1. Living a sinful life after confessing Jesus Christ as Lord.

“For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit…

if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.” (Hebrew 6:4-6)

2. Using unholy powers or worldly features for the propagation of the Gospel.

“Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’”

“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” (Matthew 7:22-23)

3. Inconsistent relationship with the LORD.

“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.”

“So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” (Revelation 3:15-16)

4. Christians who claimed that this dispensation of grace gives them eternal security despite their active careless lifestyle.

Paul whom some Christians quote for their carelessness says:

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?” (Romans 6:1-2)

The salvation of the LORD through Jesus Christ would make you free from the bondage of sin and enjoy seamless relationship with the LORD.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

1. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5)

2. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:7-8)

3. “The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe.” (Proverbs 29:25)

Bible Verses on Trusting God’s Plan

It took me too long to realize that my analytical sense puts me in more troubles than good when I refuse to trust God’s plan for my life. But I am a living witness today that trusting God to implement His plan in one’s life gives peace, victory and abundance.

3. “Therefore, I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?” (Matthew 6:25)

4. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

5. “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” (Isaiah 26:3)

6. “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” (1John 5:14)

My experience with the LORD shows that His timing is different from human timing. If care is not taken you can impatiently seek the dangerous fast lane of the Devil which looks attractive.

But trusting God’s timing for your life saves you from a regrettable and bitter life. The Bible verses below can help you to learn trusting God patiently:

1. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrew 13:8)

2. “For I am the LORD, I do not change; Therefore, you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.” (Malachi 3:6)

3. “Trust in the LORD forever, For in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength.” (Isaiah 26:4)

4. “And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.” (Psalm 9:10)

5. “Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.” (Psalm 37:3)

6. “Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You.” (Psalm 143:8)

This life is not smooth and it cannot be free of trials due to the presence of the Devil. Can we give the excuse of Devil’s presence to the LORD for our distrust in Him? No! He sent Jesus Christ to redeem us from the stronghold of the Devil.

So, start trusting God in all aspect of your life and you would enjoy your temporary time on earth and the eternity.
