What is Heart of Stone and its Spiritual Implications?

Heart of stone as mentioned in the bible is a metaphorical expression for someone who knows the commandments of GOD but refuses to obey the directives and regulations. Everyone on earth has a heart of stone or heart of flesh!

Do you noticed you always do many things against God’s instructions, and you are tired of such lifestyle? Don’t feel bad, I once lived such life under the influence of a heart of stone, but God delivered me. Today’s message will explain the spiritual implications and how to be transformed.  

8 Bible Verses About Heart of Stone

Please I want you to carefully read the scriptures below so that you can understand the emotion of God about those with heart of stone.

1. “Therefore, say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “… I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.’””

“I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.” (Ezekiel 36: 22-27)

2. “Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “I will gather you from the peoples, assemble you from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.’””

“Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh…” (Ezekiel 11:17-19)

It is not the will of GOD for anyone to have a heart of stone, but the following causes are cogent:

1. Misuse of your power of choice

If you ever wonder if God who is omnipresent saw Eve when she plucked the forbidden fruit to eat, yes, HE did but HE will never abuse the power choice embedded in our creation. If you choose to disobey the commandments of the LORD, then it will lead to a stony heart.

2. Losing your ‘birthright’ to the Devil

If you are not sensitive to the offers from the Devil it can put you in a rebellious condition with the LORD. Watch out for things to embrace in the culture of the land. Don’t allow money, food, parties, and the technology related to generative artificial intelligence to make you forget about the Holy Spirit.

3. Unreadiness to be Disciplined by the Holy Spirit

If you do not want to go through the physical, spiritual and emotional training instructed by Jesus Christ then it is a big cause that leads to a heart of stone.

Many people are in the Christian fold in this generation but only few are ready for the tough training that can sharpen them to become genuine children of GOD!   

10 Major Signs of Someone with a Heart of Stone

1. Always giving excuses for doing wrong and won’t accept responsibility

2. Very impatient to listen to righteous sermons

3. Does not want to be under the control of divine instructions

4. People with a heart of stone are so confident in their own thoughtful will

5. Dislikes corrections and hates to be disciplined

6. Selfish and takes advantage of the vulnerable ones

7. All the Bible passages are difficult for them to understand

8. Their prayer time is to ask God for their desires only and not to worship the Creator.

9. The heart of stone loves the abominable culture of this world and enjoys sins.

10. They always claim to be highly knowledgeable, full of authority and spread false teachings.

 The signs above are flashlights for you to search deep. Many years ago, when the LORD gave me a deep understanding of this topic, I was shocked that despite my status as a Christian and devoted church goer I am guilty. Conversion from heart of stone to heart of flesh requires devoted spiritual training directly from the LORD.

Please, if you discover any of the signs above then quickly kneel in your room and invite the LORD for ‘spiritual disciplinary sessions’ so that you can escape the implications below.

Heart of stone is a mind that does not want to obey the instructions of the LORD for a sincere holy lifestyle, and it is dangerous to die with such heart. Please make sure the LORD changes your heart of stone to heart of flesh so you can enjoy victory on earth and gain heaven.

James chapter 1 verse 5 says: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”

Demonic influences are the module operand of the devil introduced to us in a harmless form with the intention to separate Christians from GOD. Did you notice there is no significant difference between the children of God and the children of this world? Why is the appearance in churches so like that of the world?

Today’s message is a wake-up call for you to think deeply and ensure you are not under demonic influences of any form which might look harmless to you.

1. Deception and Lies

Demons propagate falsehoods and deceive people into rejecting the truth of God by using many preachers to cause misconception of the scriptures.

John chapter 8 verse 44: “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.”

The following steps will surely improve your faith in God. I followed them and my faith becomes stronger daily, the tenth step is a big secret for you:

1. Study the Bible Regularly: Engaging with God’s Word provides spiritual nourishment and wisdom. You will know more about the Almighty God.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6)

2. Meditate on God’s Word: Reflecting on Scripture helps internalize its truths and deepens your spiritual understanding analyzed by the Holy Spirit to you.

“But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law, he meditates day and night.” (Psalm 1:2)

3. Pray without Ceasing: Develop a consistent prayer life to communicate with God and seek His guidance. Pray and fast with a disciplined heart and you’ll grow your faith.

“Pray without ceasing…” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

4. Practice Gratitude: Cultivating a thankful heart draws you closer to God and makes it easier for you to grow your faith. Be careful not to be full of complaints to Him!

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” (Colossians 3:16)

8. Witness Salvation of Jesus to Others: You can easily grow your faith by sharing your Christ-like faith to others which invariably encourages you to live it out more fully and brings unbelievers to God.

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.” (1 Peter 3:15)

9. Censor Your Social Media: Contents you watch on social media must be created by genuine Christians.

“So, then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17)

10. Don’t Joke with Music: The power of inspirational gospel music cannot be overemphasized as a great medium that can grow your faith in God. Listen to music many times daily!
