What the Salvation of Jesus Christ Cannot Do?
Please be cautious of many false preachers who tell you that you have nothing to do than to confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour.
They may tell you that whatever you do would not stop you from entering heaven…They misinterpret many statements of Paul and quote some Old Testament verses which are not relevant for the New Testament era. Be careful!
The salvation of the LORD through Jesus Christ does not agree to the following:
1. Living a sinful life after confessing Jesus Christ as Lord.
“For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit…
if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.” (Hebrew 6:4-6)
2. Using unholy powers or worldly features for the propagation of the Gospel.
“Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’”
“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” (Matthew 7:22-23)
3. Inconsistent relationship with the LORD.
“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.”
“So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” (Revelation 3:15-16)
4. Christians who claimed that this dispensation of grace gives them eternal security despite their active careless lifestyle.
Paul whom some Christians quote for their carelessness says:
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?” (Romans 6:1-2)
The salvation of the LORD through Jesus Christ would make you free from the bondage of sin and enjoy seamless relationship with the LORD.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
