Reincarnation in Christianity; Is it Biblical or Logical?

Reincarnation in Christianity; Is it Biblical or Logical?

Reincarnation in Christianity is a belief that crept into the church with the claim that Christian can die and get rebirth multiple times. Transmigration is also a term used for reincarnation with the concept that someone can die and the soul could come back to earth through a new born human or animal.

The teaching about reincarnation in Christianity was appealing and I nearly got confused, but I prayed and studied the Bible carefully and I am glad that the Holy Spirit won’t allow me to be in darkness about this issue of transmigration.

Are you confused about this topic or you want a detailed and sincere information about reincarnation in Christianity? Today’s sermon is a powerful one you won’t want to miss!

Statistics about Reincarnation in Christianity

I was shocked by the outcome of 2017 survey done by the Pew Research Center among some U.S. adults.

29% Christians, 26% Protestant and 19% Evangelical believe in reincarnation.

It is unfortunate to know that such appreciable percentage of people who believe reincarnation in Christianity exist in the church. We have to stop the increasing trend because it was 25% in 2015.

Origin of Reincarnation

There is no doubt that this concept is an ancient one which makes it difficult to trace the specific year and author. But I tell you with the authority of the LORD that the origin of reincarnation is from the devil.

Transmigration is famous in the East and widely known among pagan religions such as; Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism.

Scriptures Used by the Devil to Lure Christians

I did my findings and discovered that those who believe in reincarnation rely on the ancient tales and no authentic evidence about the concept.

Does it make any sense to believe in a religious faith that has no proof and evidence but tales and unrealistic imagination? Jesus knew the importance of this fact and He said: “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.” We saw the evidence of Christ and that is the reason we are called Christians.

Devil would always see himself to be a smart guy who also use the tool of scriptural misconception to slide the Christian folks, but trust me, he is a liar!

The following bible passages referred to as a justification for reincarnation in Christianity were quote out of context and misinterpreted:

1. Matthew chapter 17 verses 12:

“But I say to you that Elijah has come already, and they did not know him but did to him whatever they wished. Likewise, the Son of Man is also about to suffer at their hands.”

Believers of transmigration preach that John the Baptist was Elijah reincarnated. Absolute nonsense!!

When Jesus Christ was comparing John the Baptist to Elijah, He meant that John the Baptist performed in the same spirit and power of Elijah as prophesied by the prophets and Angel Gabriel. (Luke 1:17)

If my explanation above is not enough then let’s hear from John the Baptist:

“Now this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”

He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.”

And they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.” (John 1:19-21)

The believers of transmigration in Christianity contradicts themselves through this bible reference because the pre-requisite of reincarnation is death before rebirth into a new incarnated body. Since prophet Elijah never died then it is wrong to say John the Baptist was his reincarnate.

2. John chapter 3 verses 3:

“Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.””

I am not surprise that this quote was picked by advocates of reincarnation in Christianity. Devil also did something similar when quoting the scriptures to Jesus Christ to fall down from the pinnacle of the temple during his temptation. (Luke 4:9-12)

When Jesus Christ was teaching Nicodemus about becoming born again, He was not talking about reincarnation because Jesus never told him to commit suicide. It was explicit that Jesus Christ was teaching about spiritual rebirth.

Jesus says: “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”

The process of spiritual born again is completely different from the physical rebirth related to reincarnation, so the bible verse above is wrongly used by the believers of reincarnation in Christianity.

Why the Devil Brought Up the Concept of Reincarnation?

1. To Rubbish God’s Salvation

After the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the devil is doing all his best to make us disbelief that our salvation to be saved from the bondage of sin is in Jesus Christ.

In reincarnation, salvation becomes a form of work based on human actions through repeated death and rebirth rather than on the atoning death of Jesus Christ – deceit of the devil!!!

2. To Deceive People that No One Goes to Hell

The doctrine of reincarnation teaches that someone would be free from sin and re-unite with God through continuous cycle of death and rebirth – a false belief!!

3. Devil Wants to Distract Us from Resurrection

The servants of devil bribed the soldiers to spread the lies that Jesus’ body was stolen and there was no resurrection. (Matthew 28:11-13). Well, the lies worked for the Jews but was not strong enough to deceive the Gentiles.

The devil invents the virus program of transmigration to attack the righteous system of resurrection established by the LORD. That’s impossible and the devil would keep failing!

5 Reasons you must not belief Reincarnation in Christianity

1. No one had come out and tell you he or she is reincarnated.

2. It’s unclear for anyone to show evidence of being reincarnated.

3. The process of transmigration is not teachable.

4. No one including the scientist had confirmed any human reincarnated to plant or animal as claimed by Hinduism.

5. It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.

What Does the Bible Say about Reincarnation?

No record of reincarnation can be found in the Bible because it is not God’s idea. Here are some Bible verses that tells us the truth about rebirth and afterlife:

1. “As the cloud disappears and vanishes away, so, he who goes down to the grave does not come up.” (Job 7:9)

2. “And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” (Luke 23:43)

3. “For He remembered that they were but flesh, a breath that passes away and does not come again.” (Psalm 78:39)

4. “Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice “and come forth–those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.” (John 5:28-29)

5. “And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.” (Daniel 12:2)

Finally, reincarnation in Christianity is a contaminant and a weed that must not be allowed to destroy the good plant. Don’t believe it because transmigration is not real and it is bunch of lies!!

I pray for God’s wisdom into your life and the Spirit of the LORD won’t depart from you in Jesus’ name.
